St. Petersburg is always able to surprise with talents!!! "The white nights of St. Petersburg" …
From July 8 to July 10, 2017 in BKZ "October" there will take place the large-scale International musical festival "White Nights of St. Petersburg" in which young performers from all continents will participate. It is an annual musical competition of the talented young performers selected from around the world without restriction with a framework of styles and genres.
As special guests, as always, world superstars and leaders of the domestic show industry are declared.
Annually the festival becomes a music holiday where any music lover can enjoy performances of such stars as: Whitesnake, Glenn Hughes, Joe Cocker, Mr. Big, Jose Carreras, Chris Rea, Status Quo, Bryan May (ex. Queen), Julio Iglesias, Ringo Starr & All Starr Band, Deep Purple, Kevin Costner, Woody Allen, etc.
This year the festival will appear in the updated format. Before the audience the famous and favourite performers - The Scorpions, as Dr Feelgood, New Power Generation, Kid Creole and Coconuts, Nik West will act as guests. And of course, the audience is expected by pleasant surprises.
The tremendous sound, stunning visual effects of the best designers all over the world, a performance of contestants from around the world and stars of the Russian platform at the International musical festival "White Nights of St. Petersburg" will leave nobody indifferent!
FESTIVAL HISTORY
History of the Festival contains six full-scale events which have changed understanding about the Russian show business of the end of the 20th century, and in XXI continue to surprise, opening all new and new stars.
The first festival was held in 1992 in St. Petersburg and FIDOF (The international Federation of the Festival Organizations founded in 1966 in the United States of America) have been registered.
The musical competition not only has won respect and has got admirers among experienced fans of music, but also at once became the largest festival of popular music both in Russia, and in all Eastern Europe. Events of the Festival were covered by the largest Russian and foreign media.
Further the Festival was held three more times in 1993, 1994,1995 years, and also the directorate of the Festival has held 2 large-scale gala concerts in 2003 within the celebration of the 300 anniversary of St. Petersburg and in 2006 within the Group of Eight summit. The Mayor of St. Petersburg Anatoly Sobchak was the permanent head of the Organizing committee of the Festival till 1995.
Representatives of royal houses of Holland, Monaco, England, the Minister of Culture of France, mayors of the twin-cities of St. Petersburg, representatives of world media of "Billboard" were guests of honor of the Festival. "HollywoodReporter", "Music&Media", "MTV".
The performance of world stars of the first magnitude within one festival was the real gift for the Russian viewer: JoeCocker, London Beat, A-Ha, SamanthaFox, Boney M, RickyMartin, JulioIglesias, Supermax, JethroTull, Sweet, Scorpions, Europe, Army of Lovers, Technotronic, Falco, Deep Purple, Vanilla Ice, Salt-n-Pepa, Steve Vai, TanitaTikaram, Sheryl Crow, Terence Trent D’Arby, Blood, Sweet & Tears and other not less famous performers.
